Loy Krathong

Good morning-good afternoon to all of you my friends!

Finally went to sleep last night after 2 days, and woke up feeling great! It’s 6am on Saturday here.

Last night there was a huge celebration here, and I’m so glad I was able to witness it!
Loy Krathong is every year, on the 12th lunar full moon.

What does Loy Krathong symbolize?
The central theme of Loy Krathong is to pay respects to the water spirits, seek forgiveness for any pollution or harm done to rivers and water bodies, and make wishes for the future. Krathongs, beautifully decorated floats made from banana leaves and flowers, are offered as a gesture of thanks and goodwill. Pictures of sites and sounds follow.

The street food I ate is called Rotee, and oh my gosh, sweet buttery goodness with chocolate syrup poured on top.

All Aboard!

Check in and security went well!

Pictures of my seating and sleeping space; amazing.

Includes pillow, blanket, full length pad for bed and a set of sheets. Eye cover, headphones, reading lamp, free WI FI, a pair of slippers, and a glass of sparkling wine to begin the flight with. ☺️

Hello friends and welcome to my Thailand blog!

Well, in a little over 2 weeks, I leave for my big adventure on November 13th!

I’ve had a shot in my knee, trigger point shots in my shoulders, and I’ve received or I’m in the process of receiving,  typhoid, meningitis, polio, COVID, flu, hepatitis A/B, Japanese encephalitis, and rabies vaccines.  I also have pills for malaria!   I’m just about ready to fly😂

As a way to remember this trip and share it with you all, I’ll make an attempt to update this blog daily.  I hope you enjoy my updates!

Since my life-warranty has probably run out, I plan on having a bit of a great time; you only live once and what a way to celebrate 70 years!
